Frequently asked questions
Can five days include a Gero day trip?
Replace the Shirakawago or folk village day with Gero. Take the bus to Gero Station, walk about eight minutes to Onsen Museum and return to the same hotel. Check both services and closures first. The museum closes Thursdays, or the next day if Thursday is a public holiday, and 30 and 31 December; confirm 29 December directly.
The adult bus return and admission subtotal of JPY 2,520 is outside route totals. Meals, bathing and hotels cost extra; this local bus is outside the tourist pass. Give Shirakawago another day if you want to visit as well. Check your chosen bath or hotel’s conditions for bathing or an overnight stay.
