Visitor information
Admission
Visitors of junior high school age and older pay ¥500 one way or ¥700 round trip. Visitors of elementary school age and younger pay ¥250 one way or ¥350 round trip. One preschool child rides free per accompanying guardian.
Opening hours
Regular service runs 9:00 a.m.–5:15 p.m. at 15-minute intervals. There is no regular closing day, but bad weather or inspections may suspend service. Extended event service applies only on specified dates.

Look over Onomichi's sea and islands from the mountain. After enjoying the views, descend by the stair path or take the ropeway back.
How to get to Senkoji Ropeway · 千光寺山ロープウェイ
Walk about 15 minutes from JR Onomichi Station to the lower ropeway station. The ride to the top takes about three minutes. If using a bus, take an eastbound service to Nagaeguchi (長江口). Distinguish this from the bus route starting at Shin-Onomichi Station.

Visit tips
To avoid descending the stairs
Choose a round-trip ticket if the downhill stair path is difficult for you. Walking remains at the top even after a ropeway ride. Bad weather or inspections may stop service; check the operator's notices for the day.

For a JR pass discount on a round trip
The JR-WEST RAIL PASS holder who shows the pass before purchase can buy an adult round-trip ticket for ¥630. The ordinary fare is ¥700; showing the pass afterward does not qualify. A pass alone does not provide a free ride.
