Admission
General collection admission costs JPY 510, or JPY 310 for university students. Senior high school students and younger, and visitors aged 65 and over, enter free; check required proof and other conditions. The combined Shukkeien ticket costs JPY 660 for general admission or JPY 350 for university students. Special exhibition fees vary.
Opening hours
Standard hours are 09:00–17:00, with last admission at 16:30. Fridays have extended hours until 20:00 or 19:00 depending on the exhibition and period. The museum closes on Mondays, 25 December–1 January and exhibition changeover days. Public-holiday Mondays and some special exhibitions have exceptions, so check the closure calendar for your date.

Enjoy the museum's art, then walk next door to Shukkeien. A combined ticket covers both the garden and collection exhibition.
How to get to Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum
From Hiroshima Station, take a Line 2 or 6 tram to Hatchobori. Change to Line 9 towards Hakushima and get off at Shukkeien-mae, near the museum. Shukkeien is next door. Return on Line 9 towards Hatchobori, then change to Line 2 or 6 towards Hiroshima Station. Following the transfer rules, the adult fare is JPY 240 one way or JPY 480 return. When paying cash, collect a transfer ticket as you leave the first tram; it is valid that day. With a transport IC card, tap on and off each tram and change within 60 minutes of leaving the first tram. The opposite-direction journey after your visit requires a new fare.

Extended Friday hours in 2026–2027
On Fridays from 1 April to 23 September 2026, the museum stays open until 20:00, with last admission at 19:30. From 24 September 2026 to 31 March 2027, Friday opening is until 19:00, with last admission at 18:30. Check the exhibition and period-specific hours for your date.
