Explore Jinya's rooms and storehouse to see how this former government office was used. Visit the officials' working spaces, the family's living rooms and the storehouse for rice collected as tax. Standard adult admission is JPY 500.

- Getting thereWalk about ten minutes from Takayama Station or Takayama Nohi Bus Centre. After your visit, you can also walk across Nakabashi Bridge and through the old town.

Hida Folk Village
飛騨の里
Explore Hida's historic living spaces in houses relocated from elsewhere. This outdoor museum differs from the inhabited village of Shirakawa-go and is an option for seeing gassho roofs on a short trip.

- Getting thereTake a Sarubobo bus towards Hida Folk Village from Takayama Nohi Bus Centre and get off at the facility's stop. The ride takes about ten minutes; allow extra time for waiting and your visit. Return on a bus towards Nohi Bus Centre. The official leaflet describes access directly from the Hida no Sato stop. Follow entrance signs to the ticket counter and allow time to buy your ticket.

Shirakawa-go Ogimachi Gassho Village
Shirakawa-go Ogimachi白川郷 荻町合掌造り集落
Walk through Shirakawa-go's village landscape of large gassho roofs. People still live here, so keep to public paths when viewing the houses from outside. To see an interior, pay separate admission to visit the public first and second floors of Wada House.
- AdmissionA village walk and paid house visits are separate. If visiting Wada House, include JPY 400 adult admission in your transport and admission costs. Other houses, the open-air museum and parking fees are not included.
- HoursWada House opens 09:00–17:00 with irregular closing days, so check opening for your date. Do not enter private homes or fields in the village. The itineraries below do not include transport to the viewpoint or winter events.
- Getting thereTake a Shirakawa-go bus from Takayama Nohi Bus Centre to Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal. The operator gives a journey time of about 50 minutes; some departures require reservations. Check whether your return service also requires one.

Gifu Park and Mount Kinka Ropeway
Gifu Park / Mt. Kinka Ropeway岐阜公園・ぎふ金華山ロープウェー
Visit Gifu Park and Mount Kinka for a park walk and hilltop views. Gifu Castle's keep and museum are closed, so plan to see the exterior and viewpoints. There are slopes and stairs at the top.
- AdmissionGifu Park is free. Return ropeway fare: JPY 1,300 for adults aged 12 and over/junior high school students and older; JPY 650 for children aged four through elementary school. Do not add the castle admission charged before its closure.
- HoursThe keep has been closed since 19 May 2026 and the museum since 1 April. Gifu City plans to reopen them in November 2027. Ropeway hours vary seasonally, with maintenance closures scheduled for 1–28 December 2026 and 7 January–16 February 2027.
- Getting thereFrom bays 12 or 13 at JR Gifu Station, choose a bus via Nagarabashi that stops at Gifu Park/Gifu Castle, such as N43. Check the timetable for your date and the stop signs. Walk about three minutes from the stop to the park. The ropeway ride takes about four minutes, plus waiting time. For your return, take a bus towards JR Gifu Station from the park stop.

Hida Takayama Town Museum

Takayama Festival Floats Exhibition Hall
高山祭屋台会館
The hall displays actual floats used in the autumn festival. See their elaborate gilded decoration and carving up close indoors. Adult admission is JPY 1,000 and the floats on display rotate.

Can I visit Gifu Castle's interior and Mount Kinka's viewpoints together?
As checked on 8 October 2026, the keep has been closed since 19 May 2026, with Gifu City planning to reopen it in November 2027. Ropeway and viewpoint operations are separate. Maintenance closures are announced for 1–28 December 2026 and 7 January–16 February 2027, so recheck construction and service notices for your date.
