Give daytime walks and the Mount Inasa night view separate outings

Stay two nights near Nagasaki Station and visit Dejima, Peace Park, and Glover Garden separately. Use the reserved bus for Mount Inasa's night view, and adjust the final-day garden visit around your departure flight.

Day 1: Dejima and dinner near Shinchi

After Dejima's exhibitions, have dinner near Shinchi and return to the same hotel.

  1. Nagasaki Airport first-floor arrivals → City-bound bus stop 5

After immigration and baggage claim, check stop 5 for services via Dejima Road toward Nagasaki Station. This differs from stop 4 services via Showamachi.

Take a Sofukuji-bound tram from Nagasaki-ekimae and get off at Dejima. If arriving late, check each entrance's hours and last admission, then shorten the exhibition visit. After dinner, return toward the station and stay at the same hotel.

Day 2: hypocenter park, hotel rest, then the reserved night-view bus

Visit the atomic-bomb hypocenter monument in the morning, rest at your hotel, then head to Mount Inasa for the night view. This day does not include the Peace Statue area or the museum's paid exhibition.

  1. Nagasaki-ekimae tram stop → Peace Park tram stop

Take Line 1 or 3 toward Akasako to Peace Park. The adult cash fare is ¥150; the official tourism guide gives a ride of about 15 minutes. Walking from your hotel and waiting are separate. After dinner, go to the free shuttle boarding point in JR Nagasaki Station's East Exit transport plaza. 6. JR Nagasaki Station → Fuchi-jinja Station

Reserve the official free shuttle to Fuchi-jinja Station. Check the boarding location and the return service corresponding to your outbound bus on the reservation screen. The bus is free, but ropeway tickets are separate. Move the night view to another day if reservations are unavailable or the service is canceled.

  7. Fuchi-jinja Station → Inasa-dake Station

Take the ropeway up with an adult round-trip ticket costing ¥1,900. The ride takes about five minutes; queue time is additional. Hours are 9 a.m.–10 p.m., with the last upward departure at 9 p.m. Check for strong-wind or maintenance suspensions first.

    Fares, operations, and bus reservations

  8. Inasa-dake Station → Mount Inasa observation deck

The official guide gives about a three-minute walk from the upper station to the observation deck for the night view. Adjust your visit length to leave time for your return bus.

  9. Observation deck → Inasa-dake Station, then Fuchi-jinja Station

  10. Fuchi-jinja Station → JR Nagasaki Station

Return to JR Nagasaki Station on the bus corresponding to your reserved outbound service. Allow for the downward ropeway ride, the walk to the bus stop, and waiting so you reach the boarding point before departure.

    Fares, operations, and bus reservations

After the morning hypocenter-monument visit, return through the same park entrance to Peace Park tram stop. Take Line 1 toward Sofukuji or Line 3 toward Hotarujaya to Nagasaki-ekimae. The official one-minute walk covers the approach from the stop; viewing, the return walk, and waiting are additional. The ¥300 tram round trip is included in the subtotal; do not add the ¥200 museum admission. For the free night-view shuttle, choose your reserved outbound service and its matching return. Show the driver your confirmation screen at JR Nagasaki Station's East Exit transport plaza boarding point. Ropeway queues and the observation-deck walk take additional time. If reservations fail or operations stop, move the night view to another day. Leave large luggage in your room during the consecutive stay; check walking and extra transportation from your hotel's actual address separately.

Day 3: Glover Garden, then Nagasaki Airport

Sightsee only if you can visit Glover Garden, return, and still meet your afternoon flight's check-in requirements. Leave luggage after checkout only after confirming storage, fees, and collection time with your hotel. If storage is unavailable or time is short, skip sightseeing and go to the airport.

  4. Sky Road elevator boarding area → Glover Garden Gate 2

Take the free inclined elevator, walk a short connecting path, then transfer to the vertical elevator to Gate 2 at the upper end of the garden. The inclined-elevator ride takes a little over two minutes; hours are 6 a.m.–11:30 p.m. Do not treat all connecting walks and waits as a three-minute trip.

  5. Glover Garden Gate 2 → Garden and building visit

Gate 2 does not accept card payments, so prepare another payment method. Adult admission is ¥1,300. Allow 1½–2 hours, adjusting the walking distance for stone paths, slopes, and breaks. Regular hours are 8 a.m.–6 p.m., with last admission at 5:40 p.m. Check the official operating calendar for your date's extensions and exceptions.

  6. After the garden visit → Gate 2 exit

To keep your return toward Ishibashi, go back to Gate 2, marked as an entrance and exit on the official map. This differs from following the sightseeing route down to the lower exit. Allow separate time for the uphill walk back; it is outside both your visit time and the three-minute stop approach. Check on-site information for that day's entry restrictions.

  7. Outside Gate 2 → Sky Road, then Ishibashi tram stop

  10. Hotel near Nagasaki Station → Nagasaki Station prefectural bus terminal

Collect any luggage stored at your hotel first, then go to airport-bound stop 4 inside the prefectural bus terminal at Nagasaki Station. This differs from the transport plaza used on airport arrival. Allow separate time for walking from the hotel, luggage collection, and bus waiting, then check the day's airport-bus signs.

  11. Prefectural bus terminal → Nagasaki Airport

The adult airport-bus fare via Dejima Road is ¥1,400 one way. Boarding is first come, first served without reservations; you cannot board if the bus is full. Choose a service in the official timetable below that leaves enough time for flight check-in. For a morning flight or a tight schedule, skip final-day sightseeing and leave for the airport early.

  12. Airport bus arrival → First-floor airline counter

Collect luggage from the bus and go to your airline's first-floor check-in and baggage counter. The scheduled bus arrival is not the time check-in will be complete. Check counter hours and baggage deadlines for your flight.

    Airport first-floor check-in and arrivals

  13. After first-floor check-in → Second-floor departures and gate

Follow the second-floor domestic or international departure signs for your flight to security and the gate. For an international flight, allow time for departure formalities and check your airline's boarding deadline.

    Airport second-floor security and boarding

Enter through Gate 2 via Sky Road from Ishibashi and return the same way. The walk to the gate, elevator waits, and detour via your station-area hotel take time beyond the tram rides. Allow time to collect luggage and board the airport bus at the prefectural bus terminal.

Subtotal of the listed inclusions: ¥8,300

Included items: Dejima, Glover Garden, and ropeway ¥4,300; eight cash-fare tram rides ¥1,200; standard airport-bus round trip ¥2,800

Costs outside the subtotal: Hotels, meals, flights, luggage storage, extra hotel-to-stop transportation, additional paid facilities, and audio guides. The Peace Statue area and museum exhibition are outside this itinerary.

Based on standard cash fares. The eight tram rides are two on day one, two for Peace Park on day two, and four including transfers on day three. The morning park round trip of ¥300 is already included. No ¥200 museum admission is added for the outdoor hypocenter visit. The reserved night-view shuttle is free; the ¥1,900 ropeway round trip is included in facility costs. Skipping the park removes ¥300 in tram fares, giving ¥8,000. Skipping Glover Garden and all four associated final-day tram rides removes ¥1,900, giving ¥6,400. IC discounts, passes, and additional sightseeing are not applied.

Stay in Sasebo and take the cruise on day two

If sailing among islands appeals more than city sightseeing, choose two nights in Sasebo. Visit the Kujukushima cruise on day two and take the airport bus on the final day.

Day 1: airport to your Sasebo hotel

Go directly from the airport to your Sasebo hotel. If immigration runs late, keep the first day to a meal and rest.

  1. Airport first-floor arrivals → Sasebo-bound bus stop 2

After immigration and baggage claim, leave the first-floor arrivals area for the bus stops. Stop 2 serves Sasebo and Huis Ten Bosch. This differs from Nagasaki City stops 4 and 5. Check the bus destination.

  2. Nagasaki Airport stop 2 → Sasebo Bus Center

Take a Sasebo-bound bus to Sasebo Bus Center. The adult one-way fare is ¥1,500. No reservation is needed, but you cannot board if it is full. With cash, take a numbered ticket when boarding and pay when leaving; with a supported IC card, tap on and off. Choose a service you can reach after immigration from the official timetable. The final bus leaves on time even if a connecting flight is delayed. If you miss it, ask the airport information desk about available transportation.

Nagasaki Airport–Sasebo timetable: October 1–24, 2026Direct airport bus

Collect all luggage at the bus center and head to your booked hotel near the station. Check the hotel address and storage hours before departure; if storage is unavailable, check in before eating. The walk, hotel shuttle, or taxi from the bus center is outside the ¥1,500 fare and depends on your hotel. For a late arrival, keep day one to a meal and rest, with the cruise the next day. If the bus is full, compare the next official service with your hotel check-in deadline. The final airport bus leaves on time even if the flight is delayed. If you cannot board, first ask airport transport staff or the information desk about available transportation and accommodation.

Day 2: Kujukushima cruise and return to Sasebo

Leave large luggage in your Sasebo hotel room for the cruise day. After disembarking, return to the same hotel. Airport travel is the next day.

  1. Sasebo Station stop 6 → Pearl Sea Resort bus stop

Take a bus toward Pearl Sea Resort/Kujukushima Aquarium. The adult fare is ¥390 one way; the regular bus takes about 25 minutes and the express about 18 minutes. Choose a sailing that leaves time for ticketing and the walk to the pier rather than assuming you can board immediately after the bus.

    Bus access

  2. Resort bus stop → Cruise terminal ticket counter

From the bus stop by the shops at Parking Lot 1, follow the walkway in front of the shops toward the seaside cruise terminal. Find the ticket counter in the building marked 「遊覧船ターミナル・乗船券発券所」 on the official map. The walk from stop to terminal takes time beyond the approximately 50-minute cruise.

  3. Ticket counter → Today's departures and ticket availability

Check today's departures and availability at the counter, then get a ticket for a specified sailing. Tickets for all sailings go on sale around 9 a.m. Choose a departure with time for ticketing and the pier walk, rather than one leaving just after your bus arrives. Meet the boarding deadline given at the counter. An individual seat is not guaranteed.

  4. Ticket counter → Assigned pier and boarding

Check your departure time, then go to the seaside pier in front of the terminal. Several types of boat use the same resort, so ask staff which boarding point matches your Pearl Queen ticket and join the line before the stated deadline. If the sailing is canceled or tickets are unavailable, skip the cruise and have a meal at the resort or return to Sasebo.

  6. Resort after disembarking → Meal and return-bus stop

Have a meal or rest at the resort, then retrace the walkway in front of the shops from the terminal to the bus stop by the Parking Lot 1 shops. Allow walking time to reach your Sasebo Station-bound bus. If delayed, adjust to the next service.

  7. Resort bus stop → Sasebo Station

Choose a Sasebo Station-bound service in the resort-departure timetable. The adult one-way fare is ¥390; the express ride takes about 18 minutes, with waiting and traffic delays additional. The last bus in the express table is not necessarily the last service across all regular routes.

    Bus access

Leave from Sasebo Station stop 6 and check the resort-departure timetable for your return. Do not assume the bus's arrival lets you board immediately: check same-day operations, ticket purchase, and the pier walk. If you cannot cruise, return to your Sasebo hotel. You do not travel to the airport today.

Day 3: Sasebo hotel to Nagasaki Airport

After two nights in Sasebo and the previous day's cruise, leave for the airport. Add no sightseeing on day three; choose a bus that fits flight check-in.

  1. Sasebo hotel → Sasebo Bus Center stop 1

Collect your luggage and go to airport-bound stop 1 at Sasebo Bus Center. No reservation is needed, but you cannot board if it is full. Choose an early service with room for check-in. Walking, hotel shuttles, or taxis to the stop take time and cost beyond the airport-bus fare.

  2. Sasebo Bus Center stop 1 → Nagasaki Airport

Choose a service in the official timetable below that allows enough check-in time. Leave early to allow for traffic delays or a full bus.

  4. After first-floor check-in → Second-floor departures and gate

Follow the second-floor domestic or international departure signs for your flight to security and the gate. For an international flight, allow time for departure formalities and check your airline's boarding deadline.

    Airport second-floor security and boarding

Cruise on day two, then leave from airport-bound stop 1 at Sasebo Bus Center on day three. Hotel-to-stop travel and the route to the airline counter take time beyond the bus ride. Hotel access costs are outside the ¥1,500 adult one-way fare. Leave with a margin before check-in closes for full buses and traffic delays. If the connection becomes difficult, ask the bus operator and airline about available transport or boarding changes.

Subtotal of the listed inclusions: ¥5,980

Included items: Cruise ¥2,200; Pearl Sea Resort bus round trip ¥780; Sasebo airport-bus round trip ¥3,000

Costs outside the subtotal: Hotels, meals, flights, luggage storage, extra hotel-to-stop transportation, and optional facilities.

Based on standard cash fares. If using IC discounts, passes, or optional sightseeing, recheck each included item's cost. If the cruise is canceled or tickets are unavailable, leave it out and rest at the resort or return to Sasebo. Do not add the cruise fare if you do not sail. The cruise and airport transfer are on separate days; choose the final-day bus separately around your airline's check-in requirements.
