  • PricesThrough 21 November 2026, ordinary admission costs JPY 400 for adults, JPY 300 for high school pupils and JPY 160 for primary and junior high school pupils. From 23 November, these prices become JPY 1,000, JPY 760 and JPY 370 respectively. Children under six enter free.
  • HoursFrom April to November, paid areas open from 08:30 to 19:00, with last admission at 18:30; castle free areas open from 08:00 to 19:30. From December to March, paid areas open from 08:30 to 18:00, with last admission at 17:30; free areas open from 08:00 to 18:30.
  • Dates and reservationsAll areas close on 22 November 2026. On the 23rd, castle free areas are scheduled to open at 11:15 and paid areas/Seiden at noon. Thereafter, Seiden interiors require a dated, timed reservation-inclusive ticket. Unreserved tickets exclude the interior. Same-day reservations depend on availability; choose a slot beforehand.
  • Getting thereTake Yui Rail towards Tedako-Uranishi from Kencho-mae to Shuri. Official guidance gives about 15 minutes on foot to Shureimon, excluding park walking. For Seiden reservations, the operator recommends a slot 40–50 minutes after expected Shuri arrival.

Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium

Look out for the whale shark and manta rays in Churaumi Aquarium’s large Kuroshio Sea tank. View it through the front window and explore the space for watching fish overhead. The aquarium is separately ticketed within Ocean Expo Park · 海洋博公園 in northern Motobu. For buses from Naha, choose the return service before allocating viewing time.

  • PricesOrdinary admission costs JPY 2,180 for adults, JPY 1,440 for high school pupils and JPY 710 for primary and junior high school pupils. Preschool children under six enter free. School years follow Japan’s April calendar.
  • HoursThe aquarium normally opens from 08:30 to 18:30, with last admission at 17:30. Official guidance lists no scheduled closure through 31 March 2027. Check current notices for temporary closures or changes.
  • Getting thereTake northbound Yanbaru Express Bus from Prefectural Office North Entrance to Kinen Koen Mae. Official guidance gives about ten minutes on foot to the aquarium entrance. Fares from the airport differ from those starting at the Prefectural Office stop.
  • Separate costsOrdinary aquarium admission does not include every Tropical Dream Center or paid park-vehicle charge. Ocean Expo Park is not entirely a ticketed aquarium area.
  • Viewing the tankSee the whale shark and manta rays in the Kuroshio Sea tank. Besides the front window, the Aqua Room lets you look up at fish from below.

Look closely at orchids and walk greenhouses with tropical fruit trees. Give flowers and plants time at a slower pace, alongside the aquarium’s marine life. Both are within Ocean Expo Park but require separate tickets.

  • PricesVisitors of high school age and above pay JPY 760; junior high school pupils and younger enter free. Older advice that an ordinary aquarium ticket gives half-price admission no longer applies. The current half-price offer is for aquarium annual-pass holders.
  • HoursThe garden opens from 08:30 to 17:30, with last admission at 17:00. Wednesday closures apply from 1 July 2026 to 31 March 2027, moving to the next weekday for public-holiday Wednesdays. The garden may close while the aquarium opens; check its date separately.
  • Getting thereAlight at Kinen Koen Mae, enter the Central Gate and find Tropical Dream Center on the park map. Check the facility name rather than only following aquarium signs. Allow gate-to-garden walking time separately.
  • Greenhouses and facility namesThere are orchid and tropical fruit-tree greenhouses. Japanese official guidance also uses 美ら島植物園(熱帯ドリームセンター).

Choose the permanent museum exhibition for nature/history or the art museum collection for artworks. Each requires admission. For both on the same day, check the 1DAY pass’s applicable period.

  • PricesThe 25 September–28 November exhibition guidance checked 9 October 2026 lists ordinary adults at JPY 530 museum, JPY 400 art museum, or JPY 750 for a same-day two-exhibition 1DAY pass. It does not include every special exhibition. Recheck official exhibitions and prices after that period.
  • HoursThe museum opens from 09:00 to 18:00 on Tuesday–Thursday and Sunday, with last admission at 17:30. On Friday–Saturday, it opens from 09:00 to 20:00, with last admission at 19:30. It closes on Mondays, moving to the next weekday when Monday falls on a public holiday or similar exception. It also closes from 29 December 2026 to 3 January 2027.
  • Getting thereThe museum is usually ten minutes on foot from Omoromachi, or 15 at a slower pace. Under the 8 September 2026 notice, auxiliary entrance and rear gate remain closed for the time being; use the front entrance.

Visit Fukushuen for a leisurely garden walk between Naha shop visits. It is walkable from Kencho-mae and fits a city meal. Day and night prices differ; choose a ticket for your visit time.

  • PricesFor entry from 09:00 to 18:00, adults pay JPY 200 and children pay JPY 100. From 18:00 to 21:00, adults pay JPY 300 and children pay JPY 150. Visitors of high school age and above pay adult prices; preschool children enter free.
  • Hours and closuresThe garden opens from 09:00 to 21:00, with last admission at 20:30. It closes on Wednesdays, or the next day if Wednesday is a Japanese public holiday. Check separate event and substitute closure notices.
  • Getting thereYui Rail’s facility guidance gives seven minutes on foot from Kencho-mae. Hotel-to-garden time varies with location.

  • Getting thereThe market is nine minutes on foot from Makishi and ten minutes from Miebashi. Kencho-mae is near Kokusai Street’s southern entrance, letting you browse the street on the hotel-to-market walk.

Walk Gyokusendo’s underground scenery and try crafts at Okinawa World. Give southern Nanjo City · 南城市 a day if cave walks and making something yourself appeal. General entry starts with the cave; crafts cost extra. Wheelchair/pushchair conditions differ between the cave and other areas. The cave is excluded from the officially listed accessible areas.

  • PricesVisitors aged 15 and above pay JPY 2,000; children aged 4–14 pay JPY 1,000. Crafts cost extra.
  • HoursThe park opens from 09:00 to 17:30, with final reception at 16:00. The operator recommends three to five hours overall.
  • Getting thereFor a vehicle, use the official address 1336 Maekawa, Tamagusuku, Nanjo. The facility’s roughly 30–40 minutes from Naha Airport can increase with traffic. It excludes hotel departure and rental collection time.
  • ParkingThe Okinawa tourism agency lists free parking for 400 cars, updated 21 October 2025, without guaranteeing a space on the day. Check the parking-to-ticket-office walk separately. Agency facility information checked 8 October 2026.
  • Bus alternativeTake route 54 Maekawa or 83 Gyokusendo from Naha Bus Terminal to Gyokusendo-mae, then walk two minutes. Three-/four-night options B use a rental or return vehicle with a driver. Ordinary adult paid-area admission is JPY 400 through 21 November 2026, JPY 1,000 from the 23rd. All areas close on the 22nd. On the 23rd, castle free areas open 11:15, paid areas/Seiden at noon. Two-day option A then requires a flight allowing afternoon viewing, luggage collection and airport formalities. From the 23rd, Seiden access requires a dated, timed reservation-inclusive ticket; unreserved tickets exclude the interior. Official price/reservation guidance checked 8 October 2026.

Does showing my aquarium ticket give half-price Tropical Dream Center admission?
