Osaka Castle Museum

The castle museum presents Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the castle's history through exhibitions. No museum ticket is needed just to see the exterior and walk around the moat. Other paid areas in the park are separate.

  • AdmissionAdult admission is ¥1,200; university and high school students pay ¥600, and junior high school students and younger enter free with required proof. International students should check official ISIC and age-document requirements.
  • HoursThe museum opens 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, with admission until 5:30 PM. It closes December 28–January 1. Ticket-line registration may end earlier when crowded.
  • Getting thereFollow park signs to the museum from Chuo Line Tanimachi 4-chome Exit 9 or Morinomiya Exits 1 and 3-B. The official FAQ lists about 15–20 minutes from station to museum. The route through Otemon from Tanimachi 4-chome is described as relatively flat. Exhibitions usually take 50–60 minutes, or about 90 minutes for a closer look; ticket and entrance waits are extra.

Explore the signs around Ebisubashi and the riverfront before dinner. Allow different meal times for a quick takoyaki snack or a seated okonomiyaki meal. No paid attraction ticket is included in this street walk. Food, shows, and cruises cost extra.

  • Getting thereFollow street-level signs from Namba toward Dotonbori and Ebisubashi. The tourism bureau lists about five minutes to the riverwalk from Midosuji Line Namba and about 10 minutes from Nankai Namba or JR Namba. These times do not start at the train platform or your hotel's door and vary by exit.

KUCHU TEIEN OBSERVATORY

空中庭園展望台

Look over Osaka's cityscape and rivers from KUCHU TEIEN OBSERVATORY. After viewing from indoors, you can walk on the rooftop Sky Walk. Admission is paid, and rooftop access follows the day's operating guidance. Use the dedicated observatory entrance rather than the office elevators.

  • AdmissionAdults pay ¥2,000; ages 4–12 pay ¥500. Special operating periods have separate ticket conditions.
  • HoursRegular hours are 9:30 AM–10:30 PM, with admission until 10:00 PM. Distinguish special operating days from regular hours.
  • Getting thereThe official walk is about seven minutes from JR Osaka Station or nine minutes from Metro Umeda. From the Midosuji Line, leave Umeda's North Gate toward Yodobashi Umeda, pass LINKS UMEDA, and continue between Grand Front's North and South buildings, across the intersection, and through the short underpass in the official guide. Return to street level and cross the road to the Sky Building. Nine minutes uses this station starting point; hotel travel, platform walks, and ticket waits are extra.

  • HoursOctober 8, 2026 hours were 10:30 AM–8:00 PM. Check the operating calendar again for other dates. Last admission is one hour before closing.
  • Getting thereWalk about five minutes from Chuo Line Osakako Exit 1, following signs toward the Ferris wheel and Tempozan Marketplace. Official school-group material estimates 90–120 minutes for one circuit. Entrance waits, meals, and station travel are outside that estimate; allow longer for watching animals or breaks with children.

Choose Minoh for a longer riverside walk instead of city shopping. The waterfall is about 40–50 minutes on foot from Hankyu Minoh Station, so allow for the return walk and breaks. The trail has no nighttime lighting. No paid facility visit is included in this waterfall walk; transportation and snacks cost extra.

  • HoursPlan this walk during daylight. Check park restrictions and weather notices before departure.
  • Getting thereFrom Hankyu Osaka-umeda, take the Takarazuka Line to Ishibashi handai-mae and transfer to the Minoh Line. Enter the waterfall trail from Minoh Station. Do not confuse it with Minoh-kayano Station.

Nintoku-tenno-ryo Kofun

Aerial footage at the free Mozu visitor center shows the tomb's enormous overall shape. Nintoku-tenno-ryo Kofun is viewed from outside; you do not enter the tomb. For the exterior worship area, check the worship hours below and visit-date restriction notices. If access is controlled, focus on the visitor center exhibition. Museums and gardens are separate choices.

  • Getting thereThe exterior worship area is about a 10-minute walk west from JR Hanwa Line Mozu Station. From Tennoji, take a train stopping at Mozu.
  • HoursRegular worship hours at the exterior worship area are 8:30 AM–5:00 PM. In principle, visits are possible year-round, but access may be restricted on weekends, Japanese public holidays, December 29–January 3, or for events and management reasons. Check your date's guidance; if access is controlled, visit only the visitor center exhibition.

The tombs' full shapes are difficult to see from ground level. Start with this free exhibition if you want to explore the group through aerial footage and exhibits.

  • AdmissionGeneral admission is free. Meals, bicycles, luggage storage, and separate activities are not included.
  • HoursThe center opens 9:00 AM–6:00 PM and closes December 29–January 3. These are the center's hours, separate from exterior worship-area access.
  • Getting thereThe center is 350 meters west of JR Hanwa Line Mozu Station, east of the Nintoku-tenno-ryo Kofun worship area. Distinguish this from the roughly 10-minute walk from Mozu Station to the tomb.

Choose this garden for a departure-morning walk without leaving Namba. The rooftop garden spans the second through ninth floors of the Namba Parks shopping complex. Start on lower levels and come back down when your time is up.

Do I need a museum ticket just to visit Osaka Castle Park?

No museum ticket is needed to see the castle exterior from the park. Adult admission to the museum's interior exhibitions is ¥1,200. Other paid facilities within the park are separate.
