Which Kagoshima attractions should you visit?
Choose Sengan-en for gardens and a former residence with Sakurajima across the bay, or Shiroyama for views of the whole city and bay. Explore how the island’s terrain changed at Sakurajima Visitor Center, and see rugged volcanic slopes from Yunohira Observatory. For marine life indoors, visit the aquarium; for sand bathing and rest, head south to Ibusuki. Compare Kirishima Jingu and the mountain park within the rental-car overnight itineraries.

- HoursCheck the official guide for restrictions or closures affecting the viewpoint on your visit date.
- Getting thereTake City View from Kagoshima-Chuo Station East stop 4 and get off at Shiroyama. This is a different route from visiting only the observatory from the bus stop; follow signs on-site.
